2. I don't like to get into scripture, but I think there is an aspect here that is not considered.

Ephesians 5:22 is frequently ridiculed because it states that wives should be subject to their husbands. What is oftened overlooked is the challenge to husbands three verses later: Ephesians 5:25 states, "Husbands, love your wives, as Christ also loved the Church and delivered himself up for it". That is not insignificant: Taken literally, it calls on husbands to be willing to lay down their lives for their wives. We can argue as to what is reasonable in a modern context, but as an argument within scripture, who would you say was charged with the greater responsibility?
