In reply to the discussion: Judge Calls 13-Year-Old Girl Who Was Sexually Assaulted by a 41-Year-Old "Predatory" [View all]BainsBane
(57,751 posts)We are talking about porn where women are depicted as being beaten, mutilated, and murdered. In what conceivable notion is that non-predatory? Oh, I know. That judge's. The girl choose to be raped, she egged it on. The porn stars choose to be raped because it gets off misogynists (except when they are enslaved and have no choice). Those women in the porn flicks are asking for it, just like this child. One even insisted that 95% of women in real life are aroused by violence. So what have we got to complain about it? We're asking for it.
Moreover, the British law isn't in effect yet, and your efforts to use this child's assault to justify rape porn, and thereby the propagation of rape culture, is repulsive.
It has become crystal clear this week that too many men here feel entitled to get off on violence against women. In fact, many insist that violence against women only be discussed in relation to its arousal for men. Rape prevention PSAs that target rapists are "misandrist" and "harangue" men. Men bear no responsibility for rape; that falls to the victim, precisely as this judge asserts.
This sentence is the result of rape culture, of those who justify the eroticization of rape for their own titillation, who place responsibility on women for avoiding rape. This is the world made for and by rapists and rape pornographers.
