"Let us pause for a moment of silence..." Wait! I smell sulfur! [View all]

I was waiting for the next flight at LaGuardia after mine was cancelled on Friday. So I stood in front of one of the TVs that was tuned to CNN for the speech by the Mayor of Dallas leading up to the 12:30 moment of silence.

Just as the moment was coming up, I see 2 guys with vests and guns in the terminal. Between them is a white haired guy with a white Stetson on. Old white guys are like babies: they all look the same, especially in dark suits. In NYC, you see guys that look like Dick Cheney all the time but they don't wear Cowboy hats...

My first thought was 'it can't be THAT guy because he is a billionaire and wouldn't fly on commercial flights' but it was. Just as the moment of silence started a fawning woman walked up and asked to take a picture with him. Cheney obliged with his infamous Penguin smile and then proceeded to talk through the moment of silence. It was DEFINITELY him.

I wanted to blurt out as innocently as possible "Do I smell sulfur?" but it didn't seem like the right thing to do during JFK's moment of silence.

Un-fricking-real.
