Conditions have changed.

' On my visit to the homes of the gods, I saw that conditions have changed considerably since the time of the Eddas. The modern Asatruar who had passed over had gone to work for Thor in Gladsheim. Odin's warriors now carried assault rifles instead of swords. The larger had small cannon and grenade launchers. "We have weapons that can bring down giants, one said."

Asgard has a thermonuclear capability. Satellites fill the sky and watch every possible move by an enemy, Odin will not be surprised. Thor spoke confidently of their ability do destroy the Fenris Wolf and 'vaporize the Midgard serpent.' We will win, and bring an age of honor forever.'
