Being a bear of minimal brain, myself, I often absorb ideas without remembering even having been exposed to them. The ideas slip out sideways, unexpectedly. They too often feel fully original to me. It's mystifying. Also, embarrassing.
Upon explaining this tendency to a relative, he a retired college professor, I was warned that I could be somehow guilty of plagiarism. My muddle-headed, osmotic mode of learning could lead to trouble! That I don't do this thing intentionally doesn't matter, according to him. That sort of freaked me out, yeah.
Which is the long way of noting that I love Neil DeGrasse "Doctor Awesome" Tyson to pieces. I've watched many, many of his talks. Surely I've ripped off many ideas from him.
