34. The biggest problem I had with Underwood's performance is her

total lack of preparation. I would think that, with all the money she makes, she could have spent some of it on acting lessons. In addition, she might have tried some live local theater productions to hone any "skills" first. A skier would not expect to win an Olympic Gold medal just because he/she can make it downhill in one piece. It took Greg Louganis and Mark Spitz years of practice to earn their gold medals in their events.

If she actually thought that she could pull off the perfomance with zero criticism she is beyond naive. NBC and her manager did her a diservice. She was in over her head and too dumb to figure it out. It is possible that someday (with a ton of hard work and acting lessons) she could pull off a role like Maria but that was not now.
