Sorry, but I have to brag up my 5 year old step daughter [View all]

As some of may or may not know, we are raising a 5 year old Filipina kid and she's a handful. She's turning into an American kid right before our eyes and it's fascinating/frustrating all at once.
Anyway, we attended a Philippine/American Christmas party on Saturday night complete with a visit from S. Claus himself. And we, or was it Santa, had a gift for her along with $5.00 for every child who attended. She was thrilled with her gift, some slippers called "Stompeez" or something like that. I bought 'em, I still don't remember the name. But I regress.
Right before we left for home, she asked me if she could give the $5.00 to help the victims of the typhoon in the Philippines. Well, this brought a smile to the old man's face and I said, "Of course. I'll go up there with you and we can talk to Santa together." She said, "Ok, but I'll talk to Santa myself." We walked up to Santa and she hollered, "Santa!" He replied, "Yes?" She said "Here is money for typhoon people in Philippines." He then thanked her and gave her a big ol' hug. She was ecstatic and stated that it felt good to help other people who were "less lucky" than her. And she is still talking about how she helped out. And I'm as proud as can be. Thank you for indulging me. Peace and Happy Holidays to all of you.
