(71,708 posts)126. Okay: a virus IS an infection, just not a bacterial infection.
Any illness involving a pathogen like viruses, bacteria, parasites, etc is an infection.
You probably wouldn't be happy with the care I provide. I treat the actual illness, not whatever vapors an uncooperative patient might be having...
