It says right on their site: Marriage is by definition heterosexual in nature. Scripture speaks only of marriage between a man and a woman and allows no same-sex unions that involve sexual intercourse.
Also: Scripture forbids sexual intimacy between members of the same sex. The Salvation Army believes, therefore, that Christians whose sexual orientation is primarily or exclusively same-sex are called upon to embrace celibacy as a way of life. There is no scriptural support for same-sex unions as equal to, or as an alternative to, heterosexual marriage.
The Salvation Army refused to provide health benefits to domestic partners, explaining, we now confirm adherence to biblical principles concerning marriage and the family.
The organization refers people to abusive ex-gay ministries.
The Southern and Central regions exclude LGBTs from their nondiscrimination policies.
They threatened to pull out of New York rather than offer benefits to LGBT employees.
