2. Why do some people refer to specific columnists by the name of their newspapers?

If Eugene Robinson and George Will say something good and bad about Obama, in that order? what title should I use in an internet post?

"Washington Post' praises and slams President Obama?

I would probably stick with mentioning the specific columnist (in this case, Paul Sperry of the New York Post) instead of pretending his parents named him "NY Post".

It is very likely that many New York Post columnists disagree with Moore's view.

So implying that the NY Post and Michael Moore share the same views on 9-11 is highly misleading.
