In reply to the discussion: My problem with Obamacare [View all]Gothmog
(181,602 posts)42. My Obamacare story
My middle child turned 26 and got dropped from the plan at my law firm. I tried to get her and her younger sister on a new individual plan back in August and both got rejected for pre-existing conditions (one is overweight and the other is taking ADHD and anti-depressant medications). I got coverage for both kids at less than I was paying last year for dependent coverage on my firm plan. I am still using my firm coverage this year but the ACA plans that I liked were close to the price that I would be paying on my firm plan.
For me the ACA is a good deal. I was really pissed when both children were rejected last fall and I am glad that I could get them covered.

Sure, there's lots to dislike. Being worse than the status quo isn't one of them.

True that. A different DEM floats the cuts every month or so, invoking the "deficit" lie
