55. The BooBoos are a subset of Southern culture that gets confused with others.

If you were to meet the BooBoos and really talk to them, you would find that they are very gregarious AND nice people.
If you were in some kind of trouble, they would do everything they could to help you. You might not understand all that they said or understand every action, but they are not mean spirited people.

As for the Mama having 4 kids by 4 different fathers, that isn't confined to these people. My question would be how does she treat the 4 kids? Beauty pageants not withstanding, they seem to be loved and given what can be given.

I wouldn't put any of them in beauty pageants, but the money is being set aside for education. Whether they appear to value learning or not, they want HBB to better herself. None of them are stupid no matter what you assume them to be.

Honey BooBoo also has a gay uncle that she loves very much. He is welcome in that family and that says a lot about them.

The subset you better watch out for are the 'Deliverances'. Outwardly, they may appear to be the same as the BooBoos. However, if you are paying attention, they are a bubble or two off plumb. The hair on the back of your neck should rise anyway. Pay attention to that. You may also hear the faint strains of banjo music. Run, don't walk, as far away from them as you can get.

I have known people of both groups all my life. The first group would invite me to dinner and I would go. The second would invite me, and I would arm myself for a while. I don't want to be on their radar for any reason. If I were to go to dinner with them, I might not come back. PeeWee Gaskins was a 'Deliverance' and they have never found all the people he killed.
