The only reason WalMart is popular is because of the ability to buy everything else you need along with food items. But unless you are looking for gluten free products you shouldn't bother with Walmart. The assumption that poor people don't know what good food looks like or are not educated is the biggest mistake ivory tower progressives make. They may be poor and lead a simpler life but it doesn't mean they don't understand concepts like paying a fair wage (Walmart doesn't).

Also I do not find what the original poster posted as offensive and most southerners down here don't act the way they are portrayed on these shows. Most non-Americans would label them as white trash and I wouldn't contest it but I would argue that to show some sympathy for their plight. However, if you reach that point you are making a series of choices that are detrimental to long term goals.
