The coastal strip just happened in 2012 with redrawn district & includes a serious influx of higher info voters.


Issa is eminently defeatable in his district despite the fact that San Diego County suffers from rightwing MSM monopoly/info suppression. There was a terrific piece last week in the LA Times on Issa's pernicious uselessness, but alas, it'll never appear in mainstream SD press.

Issa is simply an unaffordable, useless rightwing fetishist at this point, a congressman who has never benefited his own district anyway. His major infrastructure "accomplishment" here was to push a bill through Congress that rerouted the freeway into his own medical building, self-enriching at millions in taxpayer expense.
Issa also colluded/lead in recalling Enron target Grey Davis, planning to become Gov himself. Instead the rabble Issa riled up voted in Arnold...that fiasco left Ca in economic rubble.
Currently Issa's chaired witch hunts only serve his and his party's own delusions and paranoia. What a disgraceful waste of taxpayer dollars and congressional authority and time.

The charges of car theft and arson happened before Issa was ever elected to Congress and SOL have long ago expired. But there's never been any reveal of Issa's explosion of personal wealth during his time in Congress, no scrutiny given to his self-enriching freeway bill nor any monetary enumeration of how much Issa's witchhunts have wasted taxpayer money and even, as in Benghazeee(!), compromised our national security.

Issa's constituency is growing in better informed voters. That's a good thing, and if enough showed up at the polls Issa would have a much tighter race. Additionally I wager those who call themselves fiscally conservative are potential converts once they understand how much Issa's antics cost taxpayers...Issa is simply unaffordable.
