I don't see a clear attack on Blacks or any ethnic group. He's relaying his recollection of his personal life as he remembers it.

That it doesn't match what someone else would like it to is no basis for attack.

This whole thing makes the Left look ugly and petty.

This guy isn't arguing for stoning gays or a return to slavery. What the hell? Really, that is the unspoken conclusion if you buy into the "he's a hateful bigot and must be destroyed" movement, stumbling as it goes.

I don't see a reason to go after him at all.

The momentum is on Phil's side. The support is on his side. This is Chick-fil-A 2. Nobody's buying the fauxrage, including some prominent gays, but outrage on the other side is surging. And that says a ton.
