When You Defend Phil Robertson, Here's What You're Really Defending

83. No Jesus huh?

And those fun-filled wacky crusades were just AWESOME right?
I mean ostensibly they had them some serious JEEBUS right at the core. didn't they?

How well did that work out in the end?
Any infidels still living in the "holy" land?
Lasting peace in that region because of all the Jeebus they have?
Peace on earth and goodwill toward men because of the proximity to the creation of the plagiarized Jeebus myth?

I am sick and tired of people using the stolen myth of the resurrected savior god (in this case the Cosmic Jewish Zombie son of a carpenter) to justify their own fears and bigotry. I'd respect their opinions more if they just came right out and said:

"I am having a bit of a homosexual crisis in my life. I have found the irresistible lure of a penis to be too much to ignore lately and my fantasies are gaining a real need to act out physically. So, because of my latent fears and insecurities, I have found it necessary to lash out at those who may be very much like myself, only they have the courage to act on their desires and live openly in a world that rejects us. My cowardice is my own shame, but I use it to fuel my "passion" for the lord and as a cudgel to beat on people I secretly desire."

At least in that case I could empathize with their fear and hope to allay their self-loathing. But once they start citing Jeebus, its all down hill from there, with the usual cast of characters and bad actors coming center stage again...
