It could help them be a little bit less afraid, I suppose.

I have never in my life met one single happy person who lived in constant fear and confusion about everything that they saw as different from them, who blindly hated other people for no reason except their lack of understanding, a lack of understanding that is so often the product of fear and ignorance.

They are very sad human beings, and I can't help but feel sorry for them. But it is what it is, and reasonable people in every society are always faced with the constant chore of having to prevent ignorant, superstitious, fearful conservatives from deliberately harming innocent individuals, or large groups of innocent people who are are the undeserving target of their irrational hatred.
