like confusing grits and crepes, or polenta and tortillas?



For the record, I never even heard of polenta until about 5 years ago and grew up eating grits, but my initial impression of polenta when I ate it was that it was a lot like grits, only less "creamy" (likely due to the fineness of the grind and the fact that the bran and germ are removed in the process of making grits).
