has purchased laws to reward rather than punish corporations that ship jobs overseas, most manufacturing is now done in places with few or no regulations controlling environmental damage, abuse or endangerment of workers, or exploitation of child labor. Even where there are a few rules governing such things, enforcement is essentially nonexistent, so the regulations are just for show.
