18. They probably are going to ban pant suits on the job as part of the dress code.

I kid you not. In my early working life, women were not allowed to wear pants on the job, even if it involved climbing up on ladders, and office workers, like secretaries, were expected to wear high heeled shoes at all times. They also told us what length our skirts had to be. One of my co-workers was sent home to change her clothes because her skirt was considered too short, that is an inch above her knee, which was the fashion at the time and another one told to remove some of her jewelry because she "looked like a cheap Christmas tree" and it reflected on the company's reputation.

I know dress code sounds trivial, but it's another way of controlling women and making them feel inferior by criticizing their judgement in making clothing selections. They also used to ask rude questions when hiring you, if you were planning on getting married and getting pregnant. They don't want any pregnant ladies, but apparently don't want them to have access to the means to control that either.
