In reply to the discussion: Darrell Issa Hid The Truth About Benghazi For a Year While Attacking President Obama [View all]brush
(61,033 posts)The president called it an "act of terror" and al Queda was never mentioned as being part of it.
It may have been stated later that it was an organized attack, but al Queda was never associated with by anyone but repugs like Issa.
And as far as the "obscure video", it played a big part in the protests against the video in several countries in the region that preceeded the attack in Benghazi.
Some of us posted at the time that the funding of the video was suspect I mean how does a recently released convict come up with funds to pay actors, a script writer, production people and location costs, translation and distribution costs to the Middle East, etc?
The funding source was never investigated by the MSM as it should have been but many think the money came partly from the same group that posted anti-Muslims ads in the NYC subway and on bus cards in the city around the same time, and maybe even repug sources close to Romney (remember his hurry-up press conference after the attack in which he blamed the administration before anyone else knew exactly what had happened. Even the Hillary and the State Dept had not put out a statement before Romney got up and blamed every dem he could, then left the stage with a smirk on his face like he knew he just done something that would help him win the election. Where'd he get his info? Was he tipped off and prepared for it?).
And btw, the maker of the "obscure video" was quickly busted and hustled back to jail.
The video was never obscure but part of a larger campaign 2012's version of an October Surprise to discredit the President and Hillary.
It didn't work but the repugs had nothing else so they latched on to it like a pit bull and have yet to let go.
