stupid people have pasted agnostics and atheists as demons for hundreds of years, so those titles don't like to be taken by many.
Most people understand religion is bullshit, but are you going to be the one person in the classroom to say so? Bandwagon affect, fear of isolation, etc. are why different people say "yeah, god, jesabus, Rah Rah Rah"...
You can see in polls year after year their numbers going down though. Now it's becoming more cool to just say "I'm not X religion, I'm just "spiritual, mkay, whatever LOL"
Also, I would say that the ones making a buck off religion know it's bullshit and are phonies. But it pays good! Just ask the Catholic Church!
