(135,425 posts)The new show, about the kid with the video camera in the eighties, though the old one, in black and white, which has an entirely different premise, has its charms! I'll bet there are some who have no idea what I'm talking about...!
I also enjoy "adult cartoons" like Family Guy, Cleveland Show, Boondocks, etc. Some of the dialogue is appalling but they make me laugh. On NETFLIX there is a show called "Lilyhammer" that is a Sopranos-style comedy (starring the Bruce Springsteen musician who played Silvio in that show) about a mobster who went into witness protection in Norway that is going into its 3rd season, and that is frickin' HILARIOUS. Horrible, and hilarious. Funny-ghastly! You have to tolerate subtitles because this is a bilingual program, but it's good--you learn a lot about Norway, too, in the process of watching the show!
I also enjoyed Nurse Jackie, and there is another new "medical dramedy" on cable starring Niecy Nash (and she is superb in her role--just the best thing on screen) called "Getting On" that looks promising. I've tried to get into "Hello Ladies" but it leaves me flat, which is a shame because I sometimes enjoy comedy around a UK-based protagonist--maybe it's the writing, I dunno.
