It's not the snow or wind I'm worried about, it's the -17 temps on Monday and Tuesday night. Our furnace is 32 years old and my husband refuses to replace it until he can't get parts anymore. If the furnace gives out, we have 3 big dogs and nowhere to go.
I lived through the blizzard of '78 - I was 25 years old, by myself, in a house trailer with no heat, no water, no electricity, for 6 days. The National Guard couldn't even get to me. My cat had to live under my coat with me all that time. I never want to do that again. I'm not 25 anymore

What time are you serving? We're looking at -27F here tonight; I can be in Jamaica in a few hours.

I hope the classic "A Jamaican's First Snow Flakes" is not politically incorrect.
