if everything I understand about climate change and CA water is more or less correct, SoCal is going to be turning back into a desert. I read a few years back that CA would be running out of water by the end of this decade.
When I was trying to decide where to move to 10 years ago, I meditated on where to go. The message I got was that there would be water in Maine. I knew very little about Maine when I moved here, but one thing I learned is we're sitting on top of a major aquifer. And our dry years are probably wetter than your wet ones.
I'll take a few months of cold and water over desert any day of the week. I like visiting the desert but fear living in one...
