It was the day from hell for traveling because there was bad weather in FL, in my connecting city (Charlotte, NC) and at Newark airport. Both flights got delayed and both landed in very heavy fog. People were amazed that they even landed in the designated city. The first flight was smooth, but the second one was a bit bumpy. When I finally got to Newark (after 10:40PM), we found out that all the other NY airports were closed due to the fog. The fog was so heavy in Charlotte and Newark that we didn't realize we had landed until we heard the bump when the tires hit the tarmac. To top it all, the airline didn't send the bags on my flight from Charlotte. They arrived on a later flight. By then it was raining and the line to get a cab was almost a block long.
I'm finally home having a cup of tea before going to bed. I left a message at work that I was taking half a day. If it wasn't for an important meeting in the afternoon, I would have taken the whole day.
