the dispersed mass of the projectile makes it, IMO, less likely to deliver an incapacitating hit on any given shot so that makes it less useful for personal defense.
And call me old fashioned but I like precision. I want to hit what I aim at, not something within 14" of what I aim at.

Not really, a bullet MUST penetrate sufficiently to kill. This is a gimmick. nt
