Even Victorian age and pre-Victorian times people got horny. I suspect that it wasn't considered respectable to admit, especially for women, that they liked sex. And I would say that many men got off on helping their women partners get off even back then.

That part of it, at least in on-the-record writings and public opinion, was repressed and kept behind the closed bedroom door though, which, when you think about it, sounds much like recent 2012 repug candidates (on the repugs I'll go with your opinion: ". . .
