(2,433 posts)32. The Average Age of the WOR Listener Must Be....
somewhere north of 70. When I was a kid it was a pleasant non-offensive station that my grandmother would listen to every morning while making breakfast. Rambling with Gambling and Joan Hamburg giving recipes and shopping tips. Of course Jean Shepherd at night. Now the over 70 crew apparently wants their afternoons filled with hate and lies!
New York, NY December 9, 2013 Clear Channel Media and Entertainment announced today an all-new 2014 programming line-up for New Yorks News/Talk station WOR 710 AM.
Iconic radio talk show hosts Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity, the top two radio talk show hosts in the country, will be heard on WOR beginning January 1 in mid-day, with Limbaugh broadcasting from noon to 3 p.m. and Hannity from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Rush and Sean have provided us a great opportunity to bring this unbeatable, one-two combination to WOR as the heart of our lineup in New York, said Tom Schurr, President of Major Markets for Clear Channel Media and Entertainment. Talk format listeners are extremely loyal and dedicated to their favorite personalities; this new lineup enables us to both give them what they've told us they want to hear and to invest in a format we are deeply committed to.

Give who what they want to hear? Grandma's station is now the home of racists, homophobes and other various members of the lunatic fringe. Put that in your press release Clear Channel. I wonder if Mr. Shurr gets that nobody in their right mind listens to his station?

It's a demotion. Limbaugh will be off LA's far reaching KFI & on a station with weaker transmission

Oh wow! Cool. I will miss my hosts from the old KTLK, but this brings a smile to my face. :)

Unfortunately in rural areas (i.e., where the "silent majority" lives!) AM radio is all they can get
