321. The first hospital I went to

was so flip about it, even though they saw the puncture wound, they acted like I was crazy to be concerned. MineralMan posted some numbers for me to call and I had to call the Department of Health only to find out the hospital in my county is in transition (whatever that means) and had no vaccine. Apparently, this isn't readily available. I had to go to the next county over.

The moral of the story is don't let a hospital blow you off when you have a situation like this, because if they don't have the vaccine, they may well do to you what they did to me - send me home with an antibiotics shot and platitudes. The Health Department, the pharmacy where I picked up my medication this morning, and my doctor told me this was a serious issue. Hancock Medical Center obviously thought that they couldn't make any money off of this since they didn't have the vaccine and blew me off.

Which if they think I'm filing to pay for that bill, they are out of their ever-loving minds.
