creationism. I think it is the recording of a relatively local event from our view of the galaxies. And that there is no beginning or end to the universe, it would have to be infinite. Because if it is not, what's outside of it, even on the material plane, that we can see and measure?

We hear of different dimensions that are not measurable currently, or at least not adequately explained to the masses, but may be in the future.

Scienctists are doing a great job of demystifying many things. There are laymen claiming their manifestations are not hallucinations, but that they have opened the doors of perception.

Some feel drugs give them a better perception of time and space and another plane of existence. Whether that is a misfiring of the brain, or a gift of imagination, can be shown with tests, but not all. So it's subjective, anecdotal and does not meet an empirical standard. Yet.

To me, the universe and reality is perceived from points of view or perspectives. Very much like human society and thinking. Some are of the opinion that only their view is right, and anything else is heresy, woo or stupidity. I find this disappointing from those who claim intelligence and believe in science, but unproductive, as it ends the search.

I prefer the scientific method so that something useful can be replicated or used to create something, and not just entertainment. But many great minds have been suppressed over the years by scientific conformity, and more so as we now see, profitable conformity.

It disallows anything that doesn't add to a particular calling or their sphere of influence. IOW, some associations are not what they seem.

Do you think Michio Kaku's views on aliens, living in artificial bodies and his definition of terrorism are woo or cutting edge?

He seems to have taken on the mantle Carl Sagan once wore of popularizing science to Americans.
