Teabaggers hate him because he didn't punch Obama after Sandy, he hugged Obama instead. That picture will keep going around teabagville.
The religious right hate him because he's not sufficiently theocratic - they've got far more theocratic options that Christie can not out-religion.
What he had was the centrists and the northerners....the folks who drive in traffic every day. This scandal destroys their support.
So who, exactly, is going to vote for Christie? The bullies? They're teabaggers. The religious right? They're voting Santorum. Southerners? Teabaggers and religious right. Northerners? Centrists stuck in traffic.
He's got no one left to vote for him.
