(25,699 posts)Stuff like this just hammers it home that people who insist aliens have come here or are working with our governments, are just... clueless. The assumption that things that worry us would worry some other alien race is beyond narcissistic.
Once you have the level of technology needed to make that sort of travel possible, you probably have the sort of technology that would make a nuclear blast to the face little different from a warm day.
Same reason there will never be an "alien invasion" of the likes we see in Independence Day - a species that advanced has literally billions of billions of uninhabited worlds to exploit, for every single inhabited world. Why the hell bother wasting so much resources on invading and exterminating earth for its resources.... when Mars is right there? Hell, you want water? There's the oort cloud right out there, in terms of interstellar travel it's just as close to any alien civilization as earth is, and it's essentially a sea roughly four hundred times the size of our solar system. have at it, aliens, we're not using it for anything other than entertainment, when a chunk of it flies towards the sun.
Seriously the ability to put a big dent in a metropolis, or throw up some radiation for a century or two... isn't going to phase any being that can hang out in the space between heliospheres.
