(12,260 posts)27. Why can't we just let people live where they want to?
If they have a criminal history outside of just living somewhere illegally then they should be punished using the laws of the country they have immigrated to.
OR the more likely option is to punish those that do not have a criminal history by making them either pay back taxes or a higher tax rate that matches the amount of time they were in a country illegally. Something to that effect. Then let them apply for citizenship.
