she knew that would either be disbelieved or dismissed as a partisan "witch hunter." Or maybe she'd convinced herself that she was being paranoid or overly needful.

But now she finds that she's not alone -- others are coming forward with the same stories. Now she must be feeling empowered and unburdened instead of self-doubting and a little ashamed. Such is the nature of coming out of relationships with abusive partners.
