Sure, you can suggest it. I doubt it will do any good. I am not the only DU'er that tries to lighten the mood in GD on occasion (thankfully).
I realized shortly after I posted this yesterday morning that it has the making for a really good experiment regarding how DU'ers choose what to look at and whether or not they will respond to a given thread.
I figured the "view" count would have been through the roof if the headline had just said "Hundreds feared dead in train crash".
Admit it...that is what you saw, that is all you saw and you opened the thread. It took you just a bit of time after that to realize it was a parody when in fact, if you had ACTUALLY READ the thread title line and taken the couple of extra milliseconds to comprehend it, you would have figured out that it was a joke.
But you didn't, did you?
You aren't alone, I am quite sure, as the view to post count ratio would indicate.
I think this is appropriate here;
"We got the bubble-headed-bleach-blonde who
Comes on at five
She can tell you 'bout the plane crash with a gleam
In her eye
It's interesting when people die-
Give us dirty laundry"
-Don Henley and Danny Kortchmar
It's almost too bad that this is a fake story, isn't it?
