I genuinely don't understand what "proud to be a DUer" means, which probably comes from the place in me that no longer understands what "proud to be an American" means. I'm glad to be at DU, and I get lots and lots of good information here. I feel lucky to have been born an American citizen--I know I'm more privileged than most on the planet, and I believe my country has many wonderful people and beautiful places. But I lack understanding about being proud of either of these conditions. Thank you.
