The Republicans have made Roe v Wade moot. The forced birthers have won. [View all]

I've actually been saying this for some time now. Without having to overturn Roe, they've won. The states that would likely ban abortion have pretty much managed to make it so difficult for a a woman to avail herself of her rights that they no longer exist in any reasonable form and the states that would retain choice have done so. Just as if Roe had been overturned and the matter had reverted to the governance of the individual states. You can say that this isn't true. that Roe is still the law of the land, but it's not for many women- poor women. Women of means still have choice. Just as it ever was.

What do we do? I'm at a loss. Where is the media? Where are women in the media? Are they really so afraid of being called liberal toadies by the right that they won't report, do a special on the subject? what the hell?

what is the most effective language to use in this battle? How do we strengthen coalitions? How do we protect Planned Parenthood from the endless demonization.

It's all so disheartening.

And frightening.
