Air Canadas attempt to avoid a strike or lockout may have hit a snag as more than a dozen flights have been cancelled after several pilots called in sick.
Nineteen flights scheduled to leave Montreals Pierre Elliot Trudeau International Airport have been cancelled. Air Canada pilots began calling in sick because of stress and fatigue on Saturday morning, forcing the flight cancellations due to a shortage of pilots to fly at the last minute, reports CTV News.
Air Canada spokesman Peter Fitzpatrick would not address the issue with the pilots specifically.
