They couldn't deal with the fact they lived in a society that forbid them to express their attraction to other men.

I am convinced that men that have an issue with the equality and integrity of women have "issues" including either a sense of inferiority or are suppressing homosexual tendencies.

I can say that as a gay man that has witnessed this in several men I have met in my life.
