Obviously he's getting favorable treatment from Christie in exchange for his strong support of Christie's re-election effort, but I don't think his support flows exclusively from that cause. Ideologically, he is much closer to Christie than to Barbara Buono, the liberal Democrat who ran against Christie last year.

Besides being a mayor, he's my State Senator. I left that line on the ballot blank because I was essentially being given a choice between two Republicans.
