New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, 51, is facing scrutiny over his staff’s involvement in the closing of traffic lanes to the George Washington Bridge, which connects the state with Manhattan. The September closings caused miles of backups in Fort Lee, New Jersey, a town of 37,500 just before the bridge. Fort Lee’s Democratic mayor didn’t endorse Republican Christie in his re-election bid.
