While I don't like gun violence or violence of any kind with any weapon, this is about this man's state of mind. Whether he had a gun, knife, machete or flame thrower, his intent was to kill two black men he saw. His upbringing no doubt has convinced him that every black man is a potential "rapist, thief, drug dealer, pimp, hustler, gangster, thug, illiterate, etc", all the racist stereotypes dating back to the day the ships began landing. The same race-denigrating crap that made the likes of George Zimmerman and others believe that it is always "open season" on black males in particular who little more than "prey" for "the hunt". This is embedded still in the psyche of many white males in America and wherever the ghosts of slavery remain. And it is still interwoven in the fabric of American society. Dodging, distracting from and playing down this mastodon in the midst, is why racism continues unabated in America and why black men and women especially continue to die. Until we get to the heart of the matter, which means delving into why whites created this civilization based on color valuation, this will either continue or end in a civil war that will destroy what is left of the nation. Peace.
