You say "There are indeed black on white crimes but how often do you see them? The answer is rarely." No, thats NOT the answer. The facts I provided shows that it happens more than twice as much as the opposite. And by a smaller portion of the population. Those are the facts. Just as most serial killers are white is also a fact. Most pedophiles are also white. The whole point of this is this continued need to focus on the fact that THIS guy was white, therefore he is a racist. He very well may be. But so far nothing in the story mentions it, unlike other white racist crimes.
All the other things you mention? They certainly DID happen. And I know it was wrong even if I wasnt alive during those times. Most of my ancestors weren't even in this country until 1910-12. I was only a small child when MLK was killed. I also didnt live in the south back then. Things are improving, but never as fast as we'd like. My last 3 bosses were black, something that wouldve NEVER happened 60-70 yrs ago. I have a black brother-in-law. Again, something that would've NEVER EVER happened 60-70 yrs ago. Hell, I'd of probably been killed because of it back then. My current state representative is black and I'm in a majority white district. Wouldnt have happened.
Of course all those terrible things you mention happened, as they did in other countries as well. But improvement shouldnt only be measured in dollars. It should be measured by the mood of the public too, and as I mentioned in another post, 95% of whites today would laugh at a klan rally and protest against them. And also stand up to someone trying to run a black family out of their neighborhood. I have no desire to "re-write history". It is what is is. But its not like that anymore, and it will continue to get better as we move forward.
