(19,926 posts)When it comes to murder it is absolutely not cut and dry. It's not like someone just walks up to someone else and thinks I'm poor so I think I'll kill someone today. I mean really, come on. Surely you can see how poverty and lack of education and opportunity pushes people into a life of crime.
I'm not sure you would get it unless you actually had to live the life of a black person growing up in poverty in the inner city. You can be thankful you obviously don't have that life. But you should try at the very least to sympathize with those who do and who don't have the same promise of a decent future that most white people do, and who live their lives having to deal with being under suspicion all of the time, almost every waking moment, and who have to wonder if they are going to be beaten, arrested or even killed during a routine traffic stop, by the officer who pulls them over.
Open your eyes and your mind. Please.
