(30,947 posts)169. I let my facuets run in the kitchen and bathroom,
but I still ended up with three broken pipes. I live in North Georgia and have been through many winters, but I have never had broken pipes until this winter. I don't think the pipes can handle weeks of below freezing and single-digit temperatures. This has been the most brutal winter I have ever experienced in the South.
