In reply to the discussion: Statement by Senator Warren on President Obama's State of the Union Address [View all]TM99
(8,352 posts)118. While true in some measure, there is a science to communication as well.
She used very specific works that within the context of the overall communication do convey that she has issues with this President.
She starts by stating it is an 'encouraging plan' and she 'applauds Obama's leadership.' She then uses a 'but' qualifier to give her actual communication which gives us her thoughts on what she feels is important different from the President and how she feels it needs to be accomplished.
"I like you a lot, BUT I am not in love with you"
"You are a really good employee, BUT I am sorry, we have to let you go."
So, while it was hardly a big disagreement, it was still not as rah-rah as many may wish to influence us in to believing.

OP
Elizabeth Warren has a really high opinion of President Obama. Deal with it.

Why should he? He gets so much attention (and recs) when he pretends otherwise

Not having much is better than not having anything. If we expect 100% loyalty to a 'party line',

While I think your criticism is unfair, it illustrates an important point...

If the intent is to be the progressive riding in on a white horse, it most definitely is.
