I skipped the SOTU Tuesday night and read Kurt Vonnegut instead [View all]

The little I read and watched yesterday about the SOTU was about what I expected. The Republicans were their usual dickish selves on Tuesday night and Obama didn’t call them out for being the dicks they are. He talked about a few things that no one will remember in a week or so, or have already forgotten. The only thing that will be remembered from that night will be that Republican mega-dick congressman who threatened to throw a reporter off a balcony.

On Tuesday night, I reread Kurt Vonnegut’s “Cats Cradle” which many people have told me they don’t understand. To me, it’s far more understandable than why Republicans are such dicks and why Obama doesn’t call them out for being dicks.

Try turning off your TV for a week, reread a favorite old book, or do something you really enjoy doing. I guarantee that when you turn the TV back on, the Republicans will still be dicking over Obama and all the rest of us. And there will be very little Obama or we can do to stop it at this time.
