well ... Yes. I do feel the need to defend Democrats from having years old matters, dragged out against them, for the purpose of taking a swipe at a Democrat.

BTW, I would be equally defensive of someone raising years old matters, when it is complete unrelated to a post other than to just take a swipe at a republican ... if I were EVER inclined to say anything anything in defense of a republican. But I'm not, nor will I ever be, inclined to defend or rehabilitate a republican.

Quite frankly there are a few we could allow to move to the Party where they belong (Libertarian, Moderate Repub, Nazi, etc)

I disagree ... I don't care what party any Democrat "should" belong to; so long as, while in office they caucus and vote Democratic.

Pointing out that Rahm was an asshole that used the EXACT word being condemned here should be analogous.

Yes. Emanuel made an a$$hole statement ... one of many ... for which he was taken to task for, when they were made. He was not given a pass ... and raising it 2 years later, is nothing more than a Bash-a-Democrat move.
