Brother, sister, uncle etc. I cannot talk to any of them for more than 15 minutes without one needling me in someway by making some BS political comment. Once asked my mom how long she kept her grand kids in their booster seats and it turned into a huge rant about how car seats are just big government forcing people to buy things and controlling people. Recently put a picture of my kids selling lemonade and fresh fruit at a homemade stand and my father immediately starts in with political commentary. No matter how much I try to avoid politics around them they cannot help but use every conversation as a hammer to try and beat me with their beliefs. No matter how many times I ask them to please not bring up religion or politics they just can't and won't stop. Consequently I happily live 3200 miles away and avoid them as much as possible. They of course think I'm being mean for staying away and that I've been brainwashed by not thinking and believing as they do. It's tiring. Be happy that your not related to a personality like your roommate!
